I didn't want to pay nearly $200 for something I knew we could build for the cost of drawer slides, hooks, and scrap wood. The hooks were silver and all of our fixtures were oil rubbed bronze so I spray painted them using some spray paint we had left over from another project.
The drawer slides were $30 at Lowes and the hooks were $5 so we built this for less than $40!
This was a drawer with a cabinet and shelves underneath. We had to remove the shelve and the drawer to make this work. We ended up attaching the drawer front to the cabinet door so it opens up at the same time but still looks like it is separate.
We attached the stationary part of the slides on each side of the 2x2 (22" long) making sure they are in the same direction.
Then attach the other side of the slides to a 1x2 (22" long) for each slide/side.
We pulled the sliding bar out of the center to add the hooks. To do this we got our pots/pans out so we could make the hooks custom to our set as far as how far we spaced them out.
